Yousuf M. Khalifa, MD, chief of service of ophthalmology at Grady Memorial Hospital and in the cornea service at Emory Eye Center spoke to members of the Atlanta Lions Club during their monthly luncheon meeting at the Capital City Club in Downtown Atlanta.  Dr. Khalifa spoke to the club about growing burden of eye health conditions facing Grady patients and how the hospital was managing these challenges with new service protocol and more efficient eye screening technologies.  Grady is in the early stages rolling out new eye screening technology for diabetic retinopathy in order to better target patients with severe eye conditions due to diabetes.  Members of the club are interested in partnering with Emory and Grady to serve the population suffering from this eye disease.

In addition to the Club speaker the luncheon was also attended by members of the Atlanta-Metro Club (Shelia Morrow and Ashleigh Durr) and the Atlanta-Peachtree Club (Jane Jones) as part of a District L Zone Chair Meeting.
